Born and raised in Alberta, Dennis Wilson holds a BSc from the University of Alberta, specializing in biology, sociology, and psychology. His early career in Edmonton included roles with CIBC and Ducks Unlimited, alongside running his own consulting, bookkeeping, and personal income tax business.
In 1987, Dennis moved to Hamilton to pursue an MBA in Management Science and Information Systems at McMaster University, graduating in 1990. He later worked as a consultant for the City of Hamilton, assisting in the implementation of a new property tax system.
Dennis relocated to Texas in 1995, where he specialized in software and database development for Nortel. During this time, he earned a PhD in Organization and Management from Capella University. Returning to Canada in 2007, he resumed his consulting business in 2009 and published Human Psychology for Business.
In 2016, Dennis and his wife opened the Lighthouse Restaurant on the Parkway, which they operated until 2021 before transitioning to farming, raising chickens, and growing garlic and vegetables.
With expertise in systems management, finance, and organizational strategy, Dennis is committed to making life more livable for Canadians.
Abolish the Liberal government’s carbon tax and leave it to provincial governments to adopt programs to reduce emissions if they want to.
Cut personal income taxes, corporate taxes, and the personal capital gains tax after the deficit has been eliminated, over the course of several budgets, as the fiscal room is found to allow it. Stop using our tax system for political ends and make it simpler and fairer. In particular, eliminate targeted tax measures that are inefficient and serve no compelling public policy purpose.
Abolish all federal DEI programs and policies in the public service and in federal institutions such as the Armed Forces, as well as those that apply to federally regulated industries.
